Tasks

As a Junior Linux System Engineer, you will work independently or with teammates on operational duties and internal projects. Your duties will include:

  • Support our system engineers and software developers in resolving a wide variety of challenges around their Linux infrastructure
  • Configure, deploy and maintain Linux servers and services across various environments
  • Day-to-day maintenance and support of our internal systems
  • Implement industry-standard security practices
  • Organise your work using version control systems like Git
  • Ensure operational readiness through the means of standardization and documentation
  • Learn about Open Source technologies and become one of our internal subject matter experts for one or several technologies
Requirements

Must Have

  • A passion for Open Source technologies and automation
  • First experience as a system engineer in a Linux-centric environment
  • First experience with automation tools such as Ansible or SaltStack
  • Pleasure in learning and applying new technologies
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team
  • Confidence in voicing your own opinion and bringing in your critical thoughts
  • Diligent, self-reliant work style and the ability to set the right priorities, while switching between various tasks
  • English knowledge of at least B1 Level
  • A solid sense of humor
Good to Have

  • Experience in one or several of the following topics: MariaDB, LDAP, OpenID Connect, PostgreSQL, KVM Virtualization, Bash, Python, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
  • German knowledge
